Below is a list of shows and classes so far being scheduled for 2010.
Mr. McDaniel is an experienced artist and forged metal worker and a highly skilled instructor/demonstrator. He is available for school and conference instruction.
His more than twenty-five years of teaching include workshops at the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, PA, Penland School of Crafts, New England School of Metalwork, J.C.Campbell Craft School, Appalachian Center for Crafts, Peters Valley Craft School and for many regional blacksmithing groups. Randy has also been a lecturer/demonstrator for the Artist-Blacksmith Association of North America’s International Conference at Alfred, NY in 1990 and at LaCrosse, Wisconsin in 2002.

Demonstration- "1st Annual Summer IronFest"
Class– Intermediate Class
Demonstration — Bonneville Forge Council Conference
Demonstration — Rocky Mountain Smiths Conference
Randy McDaniel will do a demonstration of the ironwork of Bethlehem, PA. He has chosen this city due to the amount of colonial ironwork from the 1740’s still in place there and the connection with the book, Early American Wrought Iron, by Albert Sonn. Besides a brief slide show about Bethlehem and it’s ironwork he will forge a German/Moravian style shutter dog and a slide bolt.
Forge Welding—Here’s a class that will teach you how to forge weld using the coal forge and the gas forge. You will also see how different fluxes work, learn the preparatory scarfs for various welds and you will get to practice forging chain, loop welds, hinge welds, corner welds, T-welds, fagot welds, birds’ mouth weld and master the drop the tongs weld. You will also learn the advantages of forge welding and how it is a versatile technique in making animal heads, tools, candle holders and much more.
